We would like to announce that we are changing our name (but not our service or ethos) to:
Informed Pregnancy, Birth, & Beyond (PBB).
Behind the scenes we (the PBB Committee) have been busy discussing how we felt that Positive Birth Portsmouth was no longer an appropriate name for us, not least because we serve a much wider area than just Portsmouth. Our ethos, aims, and services have not changed, however we wanted a name that reflected us more wholly. We were often confused with other similarly named businesses and organisations. The committee wanted to ensure the group felt supportive of all parents-to-be, including those who may not have had a previous positive birth, and those who may not feel represented or included elsewhere. The name needed to be reflective of the fact that the group supports people throughout pregnancy and beyond, not just birth. We hope that our new name is able to get across who we truly are.
PBB is a community organisation run voluntarily by the PBB committee. Our services include the facilitating of a support group on facebook (newly renamed “Pregnancy, Birth, & Beyond Community Group”) and, when the time is right again, free face to face meet ups to talk all things pregnancy, birth, and beyond.
We are excited with this new step in the evolution of our group and feel that many good things lie ahead for us, and the community that we serve.
Please note: Positive Birth Portsmouth is completely unconnected to and independent from The Positive Birth Movement PLC and the Positive Birth Company.
